tame the cat

here it comes again the fear

ramming it´s claws into my flesh and bones

into my thoughts and soul

like a hungry lion in it´s prey

but not today

today I say no

as I know what is at stake

as I know the temptation of surrender is just on the surface

because deep down in me there is the wish, there is dream

to succeed, to conquer, to overcome

but oh my friend what a difficult task that is

as I feel the lion´s breath upon my neck

but I gnash my teeth

starting to fight back

trying to tame the lion

trying to convince this cat

to lay peacefully in my lap
